It’s Steam Awards season again!
For those of you new to the Steam Awards, it’s basically like the Oscars, but 10 million times more important. Most of the award categories are focused on games that came out this year, but there’s one category where you can nominate Deep Rock Galactic: the “Labor of Love” category.
Here’s how Steam describes the award:
“This game has been out for a while. The team is well past the debut of their creative baby, but being the good parents they are, these devs continue to nurture and support their creation. This game, to this day, is still getting new content after all these years.”
We’d love to be nominated! Steam says we get a shiny trophy if we win, and we think that’d be neat.
It’s now been three and a half years since Deep Rock Galactic launched as Version 1.0. As we said back then, the game was complete, but we weren’t done with it. Everything we’ve added since then, from the tiniest tweaks to full seasons, have been motivated by all the love we’ve gotten from the community.
After all, it’s not just us making Deep Rock Galactic. You’re part of it, too! We’re only part of the picture. It’s also the content creators, the meme-makers, the testers and translators, the comic con cosplayers, the bug-hunters, bug-shooters, forum moderators, greenbeards, greybeards, and every other beautiful dwarf who shapes this community, and breathes life and love into the game.
After all, what does Rock and Stone mean if there’s nobody to say it back?
With the November Maintenance Update hot off the press, and new full seasons and events coming later down the line, we can say from our end that we’re nowhere near done updating Deep Rock Galactic.
If you feel like it, we’d be honored to get your nomination for the “Labor of Love” category in this year’s Steam Awards. 🙂
That’s all! Rock and Stone early, Rock and Stone often.
With Love,
-The Ghost Ship Crew
